Frequently asked questions
- How do I know which direction to shift?
- If the text appears after the words are spoken, the subtitles are late—use a negative offset to pull them earlier. If the text appears before the audio, use a positive offset.
- What if the drift gets worse over the video instead of staying constant?
- A constant shift fixes a fixed offset. Progressive drift means the subtitle file was made for a different frame rate; it needs re-timing by rate, which a constant shift cannot fix.
- Which formats are supported?
- SRT (00:01:23,456) and WebVTT (00:01:23.456) timestamps, including VTT cues without an hour component. Everything else in the file is left untouched.
